CONS

  • It is relatively costly, considering the performance. The Acer Veriton 4590 is a little expensive compared to a full-size PC regarding performance.

VERDICT

The Acer Veriton 4590, like other small form factor PCs, is a bit expensive for most gamers if you look at the performance offered by full tower PCs at the same — or even lower — price. In addition to that, expansion options are rather limited. However, besides these two issues, it’s a pretty decent computer.

The Acer Veriton 4590 with its fourth generation i5 quad-core processor puts up quite a good performance – well above average. It’s great for multitasking; you can perform several tasks all at the same time without the computer slowing down. For gamers who’d want to use multiple screens, the Acer Veriton 4590 can support up to three High Definition monitors.

The past few years have been characterized by massive technological improvements. We have seen innovations, one after the other, most of which have simplified our daily tasks. One thing that has been consistent with newer tech gadgets is that they just keep getting smaller, slimmer, and more portable than previous versions. It started with smartphones, then laptops, and now desktop computers have taken the same trend.

Desktop PCs are getting smaller and more portable without compromising other features or inhibiting performance. Leading brands such as Acer are introducing new, high performance, small form factor desktops in the market every day. A good example is the Acer Veriton X iteration of desktop PCs that come in a creative design and a small size. Today, we will be reviewing the Acer Veriton X 4590 desktop PC.

Key Features

Traditionally, desktop PCs are known to come in large sizes, and for a long time, people with limited desk space have been forced to purchase a laptop when they would have preferred a desktop computer. The Acer Veriton X 4590 is designed to maximize performance, creativity, and the space on your desk. This device is perfect for you if you have a small office where desk space is an issue, or you work from home where it’s not easy to find a desk that can accommodate a computer of the size of a typical PC.

For gamers, this is an ideal PC since in most cases, space is an issue when gaming at home. You need some leeway to move around when gaming, not to mention all that space you need for other gaming components such as VR. Here are some of the key features you will find on the Acer Veriton X 4590 desktop PC:

It provides plenty of power for your office and gaming needs while saving on space. The Acer Veriton X 4590 desktop PC is also extremely easy to set up.

Build and Design

The Acer Veriton X 4590 desktop PC comes in a sturdy 10-Liter chassis to help you save on some desktop space and maximize performance. It is black in color with a white Acer logo on the top left side. On the opposite side (top right), you will find the power button and the DVD drive just below it, in the center. The Veriton logo is below the DVD drive, and below it, you will find a bunch of various ports.

The SD card/MMC port is located right below the Veriton logo, and below it, you will see the USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports (two each), on the bottom left and bottom right sides of the tower, respectively. The earphones and mic 3.5 mm jacks are in the space between the USB ports. Other USB ports are on the back side of the tower. The Acer Veriton 4590 desktop comes with Intel® HD Graphics (Next Generation) that can support up to three ultra HD gaming monitors.

Performance

Don’t be tricked by its small size; the Acer Veriton 4590 desktop is built for performance. It’s designed to provide a smooth experience, whether you are gaming or performing other tasks. It sports an Intel i5-4590 Quad Core processor clocked at 3.3GHz (can go up to 3.7GHz with Turbo Boost Technology) and an 8GB DDR3 Dual-Channel RAM to support it. These features make it very easy to multitask with the Acer Veriton 4590 without any issues.

The 4th gen Intel Core i5 processor and 8GB can get it all done without a hitch, but there’s a limit. You may need to upgrade performance if you are planning to undertake CPU intensive tasks. But as far as moderate gaming and normal computer functions are concerned, you will not need more power than what the Acer Veriton 4590 has to offer. This includes vibrant visuals and an overall amazing gaming experience.

When you need an upgrade in performance, there are a lot of options. You can expand the PCs capabilities via the PCIe x16 and Mini slots provided. You can also expand the 8GB DDR3 RAM to 16GB if you wish to. On top of that, the Turbo Boost technology that comes with the Intel i5-4590 Quad Core processor increases processor speed as performance needs increase. In this case, the processor speed can increase up to 3.7GHz.
